Harry Price
Hall of Fame, Class of 1996
Harry has been bowling for 35 years, with a high average of
207, high game of 299, and a high series of 764. He has participated in
activities of the West Virginia Bowling Association for 30 consecutive
years.
Harry was Huntington Bowling Association City team champion in
1958, West Virginia match game champion in 1961, and won 6 of 7 matches
over a 2 month period on television in the Big Three Bowling. He defeated
Steve Nagy in 2 exhibition matches at Arcade Lanes. He also defeated Buzz
Fazio and Lee Jouglard in a match in Detroit, where his 12 game average
was 221.
He was president of the Huntington Bowling Association from 1958
to 1962. He is a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge Number 313, VFW Post Number
1064, in the Moose Lodge, all in Huntington. His hobbies are Gin Rummy and
Poker. Mr. Price has been one of the Pioneers of Huntington Bowling and
was one of the best bowlers of the 30-60's era. Harry owned Price Bakery,
but is now retired.
