James R. Halstead
Hall of Fame, Class of 2000
Although elected to the Hall
of Fame in the Service category, Jim is also a very good bowler. He has
participated in the programs of the state association for many years and
holds some state titles. His state titles include team actual champion in
1973, team handicap champion in 1983 and all events actual champion in
1988.
The holder of many Kanawha Valley Association titles, his most
recent is Senior all events champion in 1997-98. James is most remembered
for his dedication to the youth program during the 1960's and 1970's. Many
bowlers credit their abilities to the coaching they received from Jim
Halstead as coach.
