David E. Pugh
Hall of Fame, Class of 2006
A Morgantown native, David and his wife of 35 years, Carolyn,
have been life long residents of West Virginia. They have 2 children,
Mandy and Kevin who both also reside in Morgantown. David worked at
First National Bank for 23 years before leaving to open his own sports
store, Upper Edge.
He is a graduate of Morgan High School, the
School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin, the
Electronic Computer Programming Institute of Pittsburgh and he also
attended West Virginia University. In 1968 he joined the United States
Air Force, served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, and is now a
life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
David has been a member of the United Way Board of Directors
and for a year was the United Way Treasurer. He was a youth leader for
local scouting troops, basketball, baseball, and bowling teams, and was
Vice President of the Morgantown High School Band Boosters.
Over the 40 years David has spent in league bowling, he has
held various offices in multiple leagues. He has been a member of the
Morgantown Bowling Association Board of Directors for over 20 years and
is a member of the Lane Certification and Inspection Committee. In
2001-2002, David was chosen as Director of the Year. He is also on the
Board of Directors for the West Virginia State Bowling Association.
David regularly participates in local, state, and national tournaments.
